GOES (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite) image of the ice storm of January 1998. The centre of the mid-latitude cyclone is lacated over the Great Lakes. The mT air from the Gulf of Mexico mixed with the cP air from north-eastern US to south-eastern Canada.
