Hurricane Bertha occured in the early season of 1996, impacting areas from the Leeward Islands to Atlantic Canada. It reached Hurricane Status on July 7th, and on July 9th it reached it's peak intensity during a period of rapid intensification at 115mp/h (185km/h).
