The Great Canadian Ice Storm of 1998 covered Eastern Canada with 3-4 inches of ice. Power lines and trees fell down making some people without electricity for as long as a month. It was the most expensive natural disaster in Canada. This Ice Storm effected people of Canada more than any other natural disaster in Canadian history. Most freezing rain lasts up to a few hours, but the freezing rain in the Great Canadian Ice Storm lasted around 80 hours.
