This avalanche occured on February 22, 2011 north of Golden, BC, where the bodies of three snowmobilers from Alberta have been recovered.
The mounties said it appears the avalanche was triggered by high-marking- gunning their machines to see how high they could make it up the mountain. Of the four snowmobilers who were buried, only one was found alive. The other three were not so lucky.
