Arete

This is a diagram of a Mountain and it's features. The arete is the sharp knife like ridge found between cirques. Aretes are formed when two glaciers erode parallel U-shaped valleys. They can also form when two glacial cirques erode headwards towards one another. The word "Arete" is french for edge or ridge.
It is an alpine feature.
