Mid latitude cyclone

This is a mid latitide cyclone found in Canada. This was created by warm and cold fronts. This photo shows a low pressure storm.


1999 Toronto Snowstorm



The city of toronto was hit with 10 meters of snow, and was the record for coldest and most snow every recoreded for Toronto. It all took place in a matters of days for this storm to do all its damage, disabling school transit and public transit. It took 400 Canadian troops to help dig the city out in important places.

This was the great ice storm of 1998, it was caused a very low pressure storm that passed over the canadian sheild area with very harsh cold weather. creating billions in damages. killed many people injured many others.

This is a depression of tropical storm colin. This storm occured due to a northern cool front colliding into a southern warm front. It Swirled counter-clockwise in the Atlantic, threatening to reach New Brunswick. It did not cause any major damage. Just strong winds and heavy rain.



This is a barometer it measures air pressure,can be used to forcast future weather.

The ice storm of January 1998 pulled moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean which was converted into freezing rain and snow that fell from north-eastern U.S.A to south-eastern Canada. The weight of the ice collapsed many power transmission towers like this one, leaving various areas without electricity for up to two weeks. It also caused 20 deaths, billions of dollars in repairs, and the destruction of many deciduous trees.

Eastern Canadian Blizzard of March 1971 happened in Canada and was a severe winter storm that struck portions of eastern canada from march 3rd to march 5th 1971. The storm dropped over 32 inches of snow in less than two days over montreal and killed at least 30 people.
