Storm of 98



This was the storm of 1998. Tons of people were without power and unable to leave their homes for several days.

This is a picture of a blizzard in Saskatchewan in 2007. Two people were caught in the storm, and died of hypothermia. Total cost of cleanup was about 1 million. nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Barometer







This is a picture of a Barometer. A Barometer is a scientific instrument used in meteorology to measure atmospheric pressure. It is used to forecast weather 12-24 hours ahead. It can measure the pressure exerted by the atmosphere by using water, air, or mercury. It measures the air pressure (weight of air) in milibars.

Anemometer




This is a photo of an Anemometer, it is a device used to measure wind speed and is a common weather station instument. It works by the wind turning the anemometer in the direction of the force, allowing the wind to be measured, in kilometer per hour (km/h).

Sunshine Recorder

















A sunshine recorder records direct sunlight as well as cloud covers at a given location. The glass sphere focuses the sun's rays burning a card inside. When the card is burnt, it indicates the total energy it recieved. The sunshine recorder is records sunlight in hours and cloud covers in octas.
